Among many areas of knowledge and expertise, Magdalena is a very gifted Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I feel that she is a pioneer in her field and is always offering authentic content so that others can better understand the polyvagal theory and other nuances of the somatic world. In my weekly work with her, I feel I have made tremendous progress with my sensory processing issues and releasing some of the trauma that seemed to be locked into my body. For example, not long ago I could barely handle the seams on my clothes touching me the wrong way and now, after really tuning into my body and knowing what it needs to be more relaxed, I feel an increasing sense of comfort and safety.

She teaches me how to orient myself in my environment, and to understand what is happening inside so that my body does not feel under threat all of the time. Magdalena gives me the opportunity to co-regulate with a nervous system that is often much more well regulated than my own so that I can learn to come back and soften into a relaxed state more easily. She is sharing something very unique and important with the world, and I am so grateful to be able to work with, and learn from, her.

I have been taught to not have a voice, not even when crying, no sound was safe. I have worked on this for years and appreciate that through our work I have found my voice and particularly had come to understand my body's language, when I get the sharp pain across my throat. This has been so significant as now when I feel it, which is not much, I have much more compassion and tenderness and can ask what am I needing, what is going on. It has been really significant to me to learn about grief, the deep immense grief. I am aware that there is more underlying and for now I am able to self monitor, regulate, live life in a much here and now presence.

The first big change in my life was finding Polyvagal Theory, after that, it was regular work with Magdalena. I spent most of my life in a state of dysregulation of my nervous system, I didn't know what I had and tried many therapies, some helped others didn´t, but I never had any significant changes. In 2019 I had 2 difficult events in my life that triggered panic attacks, and even more changes in my nervous system. I have been having sessions with Magdalena for 6 months now, and at this moment I feel that I am recovering parts of me that were left behind, I do not have panic attacks, and I feel calm and more flexible. In only a few months with Magdalena so far, I feel calmer and more content. Even my brother mentioned I seemed different. I'd been diagnosed 6 years ago with Multiple Sclerosis & have been working on my own & with PT's to get myself on a road to recovery. I had been struggling with pain & limitations for over a decade and it has inhibited my life in numerous ways.
